Actor John Stamos, best known for the sitcom "Full House", has explained why he will never take part in the celebrity dance competition "Dancing with the Stars", despite being approached to appear every season. Speaking on "The Bobbycast" podcast, he said the appeal of the show lay in seeing contestants "suffering and looking like fools", something he has no wish to experience himself.

Stamos told host Bobby Bones — who won the show with Sharna Burgess in 2018 — that he had grown so tired of the repeated invitations that he eventually instructed producers never to ask him again. He referenced physical hardships such as broken feet and calluses as part of his reasoning, and Bones failed to change his mind despite arguing he would "learn so much". The stance is long-standing: back in 2010, after being invited by professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, Stamos wrote on Twitter that he was "flattered to be asked" but was "not a dancer", joking he would "put my foot in my mouth faster than John Mayer".
