Shamier Anderson, known for roles in John Wick: Chapter 4, Wynonna Earp and Invasion, has made his directorial debut with Call Me Tim. The 18-minute deadpan mockumentary follows a city outsider who buys a rural hunting shop and sparks a rivalry with a local animal-rights activist, reflecting Anderson’s interest in rural life and comedy.

Anderson wrote, produced, directed and starred in the short, filming it with friends at his Toronto home over two or three days. After screening in TIFF’s Shortcuts programme and selling out both showings, the project attracted interest from producers, with Anderson hoping to develop it into a series influenced by Letterkenny, Shoresy, Trailer Park Boys and Christopher Guest’s mockumentaries.
