Jonas Brothers Officially Bring Back ‘Listen When Sad’ for Madison Square Garden Night 2
The Jonas Brothers have brought back their new track "Listen When Sad" for the second of three special shows at Madison Square Garden, having first debuted it the previous night. The song, due for full release on 28 August, marks a return to the band's earlier musical roots and comes amid a run of surprise announcements that has seen their New York residency expand and grow into a full multi-month tour.
The shows, billed as The Burning Up Tour All Over Again, were originally set for 20 and 21 August, but a third date was added for 22 August within a day of the announcement due to strong demand. On 17 August the band unveiled a wider tour running over four months and concluding in their home state of New Jersey on 21 December. Nick Jonas described "Listen When Sad" as blending modern pop with an early-2000s sound, citing Switchfoot, Taking Back Sunday and Dashboard Confessional as influences, fuelling speculation that a new album announcement may follow soon.

The Jonas Brothers – Kevin, Joe and Nick – are a pop-rock trio who first found fame in the mid-2000s. This week they've been playing a short run of special shows at New York's Madison Square Garden, framed as a nostalgic nod to their earlier "Burning Up" era, before those shows unexpectedly grew into a much larger tour.
Central to the story is "Listen When Sad", a newly written song the band is previewing live ahead of its official release on 28 August. Nick Jonas has described it as drawing on early-2000s rock influences, a departure from the band's more recent pop sound, which has led fans to wonder whether a new album might be on the way.
The Madison Square Garden shows matter because of how quickly they expanded: what began as two nights grew to three due to demand, and then, days later, the band announced a full tour running into December, ending in their home state of New Jersey. That escalation is the backdrop against which each night's setlist, including the return of this new track, is being closely watched.
