Jak Jones won the second ranking title of his career, beating four-time world champion Mark Selby 10-6 in the British Open final. The victory is a significant milestone for the Welshman, who has spent much of his 15-year professional career battling to establish himself on the tour and only started winning titles this season.

The final was tightly contested early on, with the pair level at 4-4 after the afternoon session, which featured a 139 break from Selby, and level again at 5-5 after another Selby century. Jones, who had beaten Judd Trump in the semi-final, then pulled clear with breaks of 53 and 62 to move within one frame of victory, sealing the win after Selby missed a green. Jones turned professional aged 16 in 2010, dropped off the tour twice before settling as a mainstay from 2016, and reached the 2024 World Championship final before losing to Kyren Wilson; his first ranking title came at the 2026 Championship League in July.
