Actor Josh Radnor, best known as Ted Mosby in "How I Met Your Mother", has revealed he is no longer close with his former co-stars, twelve years after the CBS sitcom ended its nine-season run. Speaking on the Half the Picture podcast, he said the cast is "not even a little bit" close these days, despite the show's on-screen portrayal of a tight-knit New York friendship group, describing the fading bond as something more akin to family ties formed by circumstance than active friendship.

Radnor detailed his sporadic contact with individual co-stars: he and Neil Patrick Harris had a "healing" conversation about past on-set tension during a joint podcast appearance, he exchanges occasional texts with Jason Segel but hasn't seen him in a long time, Cobie Smulders has appeared on his podcast and he mostly sees her over Zoom, and he last saw Alyson Hannigan at his own wedding in early 2024. He said he still has "love" for all of them, comparing the experience to college friendships that inevitably disperse once the shared, everyday environment ends.
