The series proved a strong contender in the 2026 Emmy nominations announced on 8 July, securing 13 nods in total, including for best limited or anthology series. Sunday, who learned of the news alongside her castmates via a group chat, described the recognition as "the cream of the crop" and expressed particular delight that so many colleagues had been honoured.

Sunday, previously seen in Netflix's Wednesday and Blank Slate Pictures' Yas Kween, was joined in the acting nominations by co-stars Linda Cardellini, Richard Jenkins, David Harbour and Jason Bateman. She recounted a "full-circle" moment of working opposite Bateman, having texted her manager roughly a year before that she wanted to shadow him, and recalled interrogating him on screen for a week after a red-eye flight from the Wednesday set. Reflecting on her role, Sunday said she aimed to bring warmth and empathy to the special crimes investigator, and noted she kept various mementos from the "family feel" set, though she left the wardrobe behind.
