Julien Baker officially unveils string of intimate US residencies

Far Out · 2 hours ago

Julien Baker has announced a series of intimate US club residencies for this autumn, giving fans an extended chance to see the singer-songwriter in small venues. The run follows a surprise, instantly sold-out show at Nashville's The Blue Room, and comes over a decade after her 2015 debut album Sprained Ankle, sitting alongside her work with boygenius.

The tour opens on 15th October at Kilby Court in Salt Lake City, before three-night residencies at The Middle East in Cambridge and Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, then moves in November to 40 Watt in Athens, Bottleneck in Lawrence and Neumos in Seattle, concluding on 21st November. Baker will be joined by longtime collaborators Matt Gilman and Calvin Lauber, and is expected to play both older material and unreleased songs, several of which she debuted (with titles withheld) at the Nashville show. The announcement comes a year after Baker cancelled her joint Send A Prayer My Way tour with Torres to prioritise her wellbeing.
