## Key points

- Jury shown CCTV in Patrick Spencer trial
- MP denies groping allegations involving two women
- Case centres on alleged assaults at Groucho Club

## Summary

A jury has been shown CCTV footage from the Groucho Club bar in London during the trial of Conservative MP Patrick Spencer, who is accused of sexually assaulting two women by groping their breasts. The footage appears to be part of the prosecution’s attempt to support the women’s accounts and place Spencer at the scene. The case matters because it involves a sitting politician and serious allegations of sexual misconduct in a high-profile public setting.

The key point in the report is that the jury is now being presented with video evidence as it considers the allegations relating to two separate women. The accusations concern alleged conduct inside the private members’ club, and Spencer denies wrongdoing as the case proceeds through court. The article frames the CCTV as an important piece of evidence, but the allegations remain contested and have not been proven unless and until the court reaches a verdict.
