“Just Last Week, He Called Me About a Song Idea”: Singer-Songwriter From Beloved Family Country Band Dead at 56

American Songwriter · 3 hours ago

Brian Duckworth, a singer-songwriter known as "Nashville" for his role in the family country band Taylor Made, has died at the age of 56. According to his obituary, he passed away at his home on 7 September. The band, which he formed with relatives Greg Duckworth and Wendy Williams, performed for years in clubs, at fairs and in honky-tonks, and Duckworth was remembered as much for his devotion to family as for his musical career.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Scheuvront Duckworth, and their six children. His niece, Brianna Duckworth Kazner, paid tribute online, recalling that he had called her only the previous week with a new song idea and that she had long relied on him to help her overcome creative blocks in her own songwriting. His obituary described him as someone who "never passed up an opportunity to share his voice" and who cherished his family, music and the outdoors above all else.
