## Summary

A baker in Derbyshire chased down a man who took cakes from her honesty-shop stand after spotting the theft on CCTV. The man returned the items and apologised, while the incident highlights the strain repeated thefts can place on small businesses that rely on customers paying voluntarily.

Jade Walton, 33, who runs JD Bakes in Clay Cross, said the man took a lemon drizzle cake, a raspberry ripple slice and a brownie worth £9.80 on 19 October. She said her business has been targeted several times in recent months, though most customers pay honestly. Derbyshire Police said the incident had been reported and officers were pursuing lines of enquiry; no arrests had been made.
