Kacey Musgraves Launches Lube, Hangs from Giant Disco Balls at Tour Kickoff
Kacey Musgraves has launched Drought Drops, a limited-edition personal lubricant created with women’s wellness brand Medicine Mama, alongside the opening of her North American arena tour. The launch and the tour’s extravagant staging reinforce the playful sexual-frustration theme of her recent single “Dry Spell” and album Middle of Nowhere.
The organic aloe- and water-based product is also marketed as a vaginal moisturiser; its first batch sold out, with more stock expected on 1 September. At the tour’s opening show at Chicago’s United Center on Friday, held on Musgraves’s 38th birthday, she performed “Rhinestoned” while suspended from two large mirrored disco balls; the set drew heavily from Middle of Nowhere and followed the cancellation of an additional Chicago date on 20 August.
