Kalshi demands Netflix take down trailer for ‘Prediction Games’ documentary

TechCrunch · 3 hours ago

Kalshi has sent Netflix a cease-and-desist letter seeking removal of the trailer for “Instadocs: The Prediction Games”, alleging it is defamatory and misleading. The dispute centres on footage that appears to show a Kalshi sports-market bet in Nevada, where the company is currently barred from operating, raising questions about how the documentary presents prediction-market activity.

Kalshi says the displayed £5,000-equivalent bet screenshot was actually made on 16 May 2025, before the Nevada court order, but that the trailer implies it was placed during a Las Vegas World Cup-final event on 19 July 2026. Netflix acknowledged the screenshot predates the ban but said the footage itself was not fabricated, stating that it was filmed in Las Vegas on 17 July and that the trader voluntarily showed the older bet; the documentary is due to be released on 26 July.

  • Kalshi wants Netflix to remove a documentary trailer.
  • It says an old bet screenshot misleadingly suggests Nevada trading.
  • Netflix says the footage was genuine and not fabricated.
