## Key points

- Harris sharply criticised the Trump administration while campaigning in Wisconsin.
- She accused Tom Tiffany of backing efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
- Harris says getting through the 2026 midterms comes before deciding on 2028.

## Summary

Kamala Harris criticised the Trump administration at a Wisconsin campaign event, calling it the most callous, corrupt and incompetent in US history. Her remarks, delivered while campaigning for Democratic gubernatorial nominee David Crowley, framed the midterm elections as important to preserving democratic norms.

Harris also attacked Crowley’s opponent, Republican Representative Tom Tiffany, over his support for efforts to overturn the 2020 election, which Trump lost. Tiffany criticised Crowley’s association with Harris, citing policy disagreements. Harris has recently campaigned for Democrats in several battleground states and said in September that she had not decided whether to run for president in 2028.
