## Key points

- Harris names FDR, JFK and Obama as top three presidents.
- Biden, her former running mate, was left off the list.
- Comments made at a public event on Friday.

## Summary

Kamala Harris named Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and Barack Obama as the three most effective US presidents during a public appearance, notably omitting her former running mate Joe Biden from the list. The remark has drawn attention as it comes amid wider Democratic Party tensions over Biden's legacy, with the omission being interpreted by some as a further sign of distancing from the former president following his exit from the 2024 race.

The comments were made by the former vice president at an event on Friday, according to Fox News. The report does not provide further detail on the context of the remarks or any explanation Harris gave for her selections, but frames the exclusion of Biden as notable given their political partnership.
