## Key points

- Sophia Laforteza sat out Katseye's European and UK "Wildworld" tour dates
- She cited ongoing treatment and prioritising her mental wellbeing
- Tour proceeded regardless; group had first US No. 1 album in August

## Summary

Katseye's label has confirmed that member Sophia Laforteza did not take part in the European and UK leg of the group's "Wildworld" tour, which ran from 1 to 17 September, as she continued to prioritise her wellbeing following a hiatus first announced in early August. The label said it remained "fully committed" to supporting her with "all the support and resources needed" and asked fans for "warm understanding", while Laforteza herself later posted on Instagram apologising to fans and revealing she had been in "ongoing treatment", adding that "you can't pour from an empty cup."

The tour went ahead as planned, opening at Dublin's 3Arena and continuing to Paris, Amsterdam and Copenhagen without her, before Katseye was due to move on to a North American leg beginning 13 October at Miami's Kaseya Center. Her absence capped a turbulent year for the group: bandmate Manon Bannerman took a temporary hiatus in February after their Grammys performance, and Katseye also withdrew from Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields Festival citing member Megan Skiendiel's ankle injury. Despite the disruption, the band's commercial momentum continued unaffected, having scored their first US number one album with "Wild" in August.
