Katy Perry has opened up about her split from Orlando Bloom and her new relationship with former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, saying she credits her Lifetimes Tour with bringing them together. Speaking to People, the singer said last year was difficult but that the tour helped her rediscover her sense of purpose, describing meeting Trudeau as "the greatest gift" from the experience.

Perry and Bloom, who had been engaged, announced their split last July while she was in Australia partway through the 91-date, 23-country tour; she was first seen with Trudeau later that same month. She said she had written a list of things she wanted to manifest, including "true love", and praised Trudeau for supporting her career, noting he has attended several of her shows. The interview coincided with the release of her concert film, The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris, which documents two Paris shows filmed with 60 cameras across a 25-song set.
