Kehlani has cancelled two upcoming world tour dates in New Jersey and Maryland after being hospitalised with a painful illness that left her unable to swallow. The singer said she had not been cleared to perform, and described the decision as heartbreaking despite efforts to protect her health while touring.

The tour is due to resume on 29 August at the Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront in Richmond, Virginia, with dates continuing through September and ending in San Francisco in early October. Kehlani, 31, released her self-titled album in April; it topped Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart and debuted in the top five of the Billboard 200.
