## Key points

- The band received an offer for one tribute show.
- Hickey says a single concert would not make the project viable.
- Josh Silver has not committed to taking part.

## Summary

Former TYPE O NEGATIVE guitarist Kenny Hickey says the surviving members have been offered a large sum to play a Peter Steele tribute concert, but a single show would not justify the work involved. A reunion remains unlikely because rebuilding the performance would require extensive musical and visual preparation, as well as a singer and bassist capable of doing justice to Steele’s distinctive style.

Hickey said the band would need multiple shows for the project to be viable, and that it might happen only as a tribute event if the logistics can be arranged. Former keyboardist Josh Silver has not committed; Hickey said Silver would need to be fully committed and has other responsibilities. TYPE O NEGATIVE effectively ended after Steele died of heart failure in April 2010, aged 48.
