Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has confirmed there are plans for further Spider-Man films starring Tom Holland, though the actor is set to take an extended break before any return. The comments came in an interview with Variety following the record-breaking box office debut of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has reignited attention on the future of the franchise after its ending teased what comes next. Feige's remarks matter because they put to rest any doubt over Holland's continued involvement, even as the studio allows him time off after a demanding promotional schedule.

Brand New Day opened to the biggest weekend in domestic box office history, taking in around $357 million and surpassing the previous record held by Avengers: Endgame, alongside setting records for the largest preview takings ($72 million) and biggest opening day (almost $170 million). The film has been widely praised by critics, including Collider's own review calling it the best Spider-Man instalment in two decades, and arrives after a difficult run of Marvel releases in 2025. Feige said "there are always plans" for more films with Holland as Spider-Man, but added that he and co-star Zendaya, fresh from a global promotional tour, will first take "a good and restful victory lap".
