Kia’s EV3 will start under $31,000 in the US

Engadget · 1 hour ago

Kia has announced that its compact EV3 electric SUV will start at $29,450 in the United States, or $30,945 including destination charges. The price makes it Kia’s cheapest EV and undercuts its earlier target of $35,000, offering a relatively affordable option as lower-cost electric vehicles have become harder to find in the US.

The EV3 has a claimed maximum range of 321 miles, with front- and all-wheel-drive versions available. It is similar in size to Kia’s Niro crossover, supports Tesla Superchargers through an NACS port, and can reportedly charge from 10 to 80 per cent in about 31 minutes using a 350kW rapid charger; California has also introduced rebates of up to $3,500 for first-time EV buyers.

  • Kia’s EV3 will cost $29,450 before destination charges.
  • It becomes Kia’s cheapest US electric vehicle.
  • The EV3 offers up to 321 miles of range.
