KILLSWITCH ENGAGE’s JESSE LEACH Wants To Go ‘Faster And Heavier And Harder’ On Next Album

Blabbermouth ·

Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach says he is keen for the band’s next album to be “faster and heavier and harder”, though he expects its sound to emerge naturally from the group’s songwriting. The band may begin writing again after upcoming tours, but has no firm plans for a new record.

Leach said the band’s US dates are ending for an extended period, followed by shows in New Zealand and Australia and possible European festivals next year. Four tracks were left off 2025’s *This Consequence*: one appeared on a benefit compilation, another may be released with the same organisation, and two could become a B-side seven-inch. The band is also discussing EPs, while its members typically bring demos or riffs that they develop together.

  • Leach hopes the next album will be faster and heavier.
  • Killswitch Engage has no firm writing or release plans yet.
  • The band is considering EPs and other releases for unused tracks.

Killswitch Engage are an American metal band whose music combines heavy guitar riffs with melodic singing and harsher vocals. Jesse Leach is the band’s lead singer, and the group’s albums are written collectively, with members bringing in riffs and song ideas to develop together.

The band’s 2025 album, This Consequence, had four tracks left off it; some may be released separately, including through a benefit compilation or as B-sides. The group has also discussed putting out an EP, a shorter release than an album. These options give the band ways to share music between full albums while its members decide what to write next.
