## Summary

Kim Kardashian drew criticism after posting “GOOD MORNING AMERICA” on X the morning after US midterm elections, when Democrats won control of both chambers of Congress. Some users read the caption as a celebration of the result and accused her of being insensitive to her friendship with Ivanka Trump. The post was also promoting Kardashian’s appearance on the programme to discuss her drama series, All’s Fair.

Kardashian and Ivanka Trump have developed a close relationship in recent years, linked in part to Kardashian’s prison reform work. In 2018, Kardashian met Donald Trump and Jared Kushner to advocate for Alice Johnson, who was later granted clemency and a presidential pardon. Kardashian has previously criticised Trump’s presidency, while commenters also cited a past photograph of her with him.
