## Key points

- The $250 Paperwhite Signature Edition adds a metal back and accessory pins.
- Its screen looks slightly warmer, but sharpness gains were hard to see.
- The new page-turn cover costs $80; wireless charging is gone.

## Summary

Amazon’s 2026 Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition refines the company’s premium mid-range e-reader with a metal back, a repositioned power button and new connections for accessories. The review finds it remains a strong reading device, but its upgrades may not justify the extra cost for people who already own a recent Paperwhite.

The $250 model has a waterproof design, a 300 dpi display and 32GB of storage. Its new pogo pins replace the previous model’s wireless charging and support a $80 cover with physical page-turn buttons, while a $60 charging stand is also planned. The reviewer noticed a slightly warmer screen glow, but could not see a clear improvement in sharpness or contrast over the 2024 model.
