Kings of Leon have partnered with The Weather Channel to create an innovative lyric video for their song "Cold Blue Dawn," set for release on their forthcoming tenth studio album, O My Beloved. The groundbreaking video uses NASA satellite imagery from the Landsat programme to spell out each lyric of the gentle ballad, with Earth's natural formations—mountains, rivers, coastlines and farmland—forming the letters whilst viewers contemplate the planet's beauty. The collaboration arose after The Weather Channel created a viral video featuring weather formations synced to the band's 2010 track "Pyro," which inspired Kings of Leon to propose this unprecedented creative partnership.

Each letter of the lyrics is rendered entirely from Landsat satellite photography, creating a visually striking representation of the song's reflective themes about rock-and-roll fantasy versus reality. The video transitions between the natural Earth imagery and archival footage of the Followill family members enjoying the outdoors, complementing Caleb Followill's contemplative vocals. The Weather Company CEO noted that the collaboration demonstrates how "weather isn't the backdrop to our lives, it's part of the story," using science and creativity to celebrate both music and the natural world. Kings of Leon's album O My Beloved releases 6 November, following their 2024 album Can We Please Have Fun.
