## Key points

- Korda wins her second LPGA player-of-the-year award.
- Four victories included the season’s first two majors.
- One more win would take her to 27 Hall of Fame points.

## Summary

Nelly Korda has won the LPGA Tour’s points-based player-of-the-year award for the second time, after a season in which she won four tournaments, including the first two majors. The award recognises her strong results and gives her a chance to reach the LPGA Hall of Fame with one more victory.

Korda, 28, has 26 Hall of Fame points: major wins count for two and other LPGA Tour victories for one, with 27 points and a performance requirement needed to qualify. She built an early lead with a six-tournament run of wins or runner-up finishes; injuries and absences among rivals meant she secured the award with three tournaments left. New Zealand’s Lydia Ko and South Korea’s Inbee Park were both 27 when they qualified for the Hall of Fame.
