## Key points

- Coalition talks remain deadlocked since June's election.
- Vetëvendosje won most votes but lacks a majority.

## Summary

A politician in Kosovo threw eggs at acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti amid ongoing efforts to form a new government, which have remained deadlocked for months. The incident reflects the mounting frustration and political tension surrounding Kosovo's prolonged failure to establish a functioning administration since the last election.

Kurti's Vetëvendosje party won the most votes in the June election but fell short of an outright parliamentary majority, leaving the country without a settled government for an extended period. Kosovo has repeatedly struggled to form stable governments since 2025, complicating its efforts to pursue closer integration with the EU and NATO.
