KPMG UK is cutting approximately 4 percent of its Advisory division staff from the Tech and Data areas, affecting workers in AI, Cyber, SAP, and Testing teams scheduled to depart next month. The job cuts, announced internally in July, come as the Big Four consultancy adapts to evolving market conditions and subdued client demand affecting the broader consulting industry, particularly in the context of AI-driven disruption.

The redundancy package combines statutory pay with enhancements, guaranteeing affected staff a minimum of either £1,250 plus statutory redundancy or eight weeks' pay (whichever is higher), alongside pay in lieu of notice and pension contributions. However, some employees have criticised the terms as "insulting and disgraceful," particularly given that KPMG UK partners received an average of £880,000 in the year to September 2025, whilst this follows 600 other role eliminations across the firm six months earlier and reflects a 9 percent revenue decline in the consulting practice between fiscal 2024 and 2025.
