## Summary

Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo’s film *La Bola Negra* won the BFI London Film Festival’s Audience Award for best feature, adding another accolade to its festival run. The drama follows three generations of queer men connected through love and loss, and draws on the legacy of writer Federico García Lorca.

The film had its festival gala screening on 8 October and is due in UK and Irish cinemas on 6 November. Los Javis said audience recognition was especially meaningful; the film had also earned them Cannes’ best director award. Grace Harper Brighouse’s *Dependence* won the award for best British discovery. LFF screened 258 titles from 87 countries across 249 languages.
