## Key points

- Labour is expected to announce the fate of its Green council coalitions.
- Up to eight local deals could collapse.
- The review covers 18 councils across England and Wales.

## Summary

Labour is expected to announce which local power-sharing deals with the Greens it will end after reviewing the parties’ cooperation over a disputed motion on Zionism. The decision could bring down as many as eight coalitions, while the Greens’ local partners’ responses to Labour’s demands are assessed.

The review covers arrangements at 17 councils in England and one in Wales. Labour asked local Green groups to condemn the motion, passed at the party’s conference last month, and urge its national leadership to rethink it. Lewes District Council’s Green councillors said their agreement with Labour had already been dissolved; Green leader Zack Polanski has said he wants to amend the motion at the first opportunity.
