Lady Gaga Scores Emmy Nomination for Her Wednesday Song

Lady Gaga has received her fifth career Emmy nomination, landing a nod in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category for "The Dead Dance", a song written for the Tim Burton series Wednesday. The nomination places her among the contenders at the 2026 Emmys, a year otherwise dominated by The Pitt and Hacks, and marks another step in her pursuit of recognition across the major awards.

The song was co-written with Andrew Watt and Henry Walter Russell, who are also nominated, and competes against entries from The Pitt, Hacks, The Boys, South Park and Spider-Noir. Gaga arguably already holds an Emmy, having won a 2025 Sports Emmy for her performance of "Hold My Hand" before that year's Super Bowl, but a win here would be her first at the main ceremony. Other music nominees this year include Raphael Saadiq for the docuseries High Horse: The Black Cowboy, and several nods for Pluribus.
