## Key points

- Carr and James are assigned to Coachella Valley for playing time.
- Carr has logged three minutes across three NBA games.
- Both guards are set to rejoin the Lakers for a three-game trip.

## Summary

The Lakers have assigned rookie Cameron Carr and third-year guard Bronny James to their G League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Lakers, so they can get more playing time. Coach JJ Redick said the pair need “reps” and opportunities to play, as their minutes with the NBA team have been limited during its strong start to the season.

Carr, the Lakers’ 24th overall draft pick, missed the start of the season with an oblique injury and has played only three minutes across three games since making his debut against Toronto. James has appeared in five games for a total of 2.4 minutes; his $2.3 million contract was fully guaranteed in the off-season. Both guards are due to rejoin the Lakers for a three-game road trip to Detroit, Atlanta and Milwaukee.
