## Summary

Lakers forward Ziaire Williams mistook Austin Reaves for Luka Dončić during Reaves’s post-match interview, congratulating him on a 50-point performance. Reaves replied, “I’m the wrong white person”; Williams confirmed the mix-up was genuine, while Dončić joked that it was disrespectful. The moment followed the Lakers’ 124-118 comeback win over Portland.

Dončić scored 53 points, helping the Lakers recover from a 16-point deficit and build a 16-point lead. His 361 points through the team’s first nine games surpassed Michael Jordan’s post-merger record of 347, and marked the most in the modern NBA since Wilt Chamberlain in 1962-63. Dončić has 11 career 50-point games and is averaging 40.1 points, 7.7 rebounds and 7.6 assists; the Lakers lead the Western Conference at 8-2.
