Lala Sadii Disney Channel Series in Development
Developed over time first seen 2 months ago
Disney Channel and Disney+ are developing “Lala IRL”, a live-action scripted series starring TikTok creator and singer Lala Sadii. The project would fictionalise elements of her rise to online fame while following her attempts to balance school, family and the pressures created by a huge social-media following, reflecting Disney’s interest in turning digital creators into television stars.
The series is still in development, so no release date or full cast has been announced. Sadii has more than 25 million TikTok followers and 1.7 billion likes; Peter Paige will write, direct and executive produce alongside Sadii, Lauren Gellert, Billy Mann and Endemol Shine North America executives Sharon Levy and Lisa Fahrenholt.

Lala Sadii is a social-media creator and singer best known for short videos on TikTok, where she has built a large audience. Her content has made her one of a number of online personalities who have attracted interest from television and film companies.
Disney Channel makes programmes aimed mainly at children and teenagers, while Disney+ is the company’s streaming service. A live-action scripted series uses actors and a planned story, rather than reality footage or online clips.
The proposed programme would draw on parts of Sadii’s experience becoming well known online, including the effect of fame on school and family life. Peter Paige is a television writer and director involved in the project, and Endemol Shine North America is a production company that develops television programmes.
