## Key points

- Coventry have won three of their past five league games.
- Lampard says the team has room to improve.
- A win at Everton could lift Coventry to 11th.

## Summary

Coventry City have begun to recover from four opening Premier League defeats, winning three of their past five matches and climbing out of the relegation zone. Frank Lampard says the team can improve further as they prepare to face Everton, the club he once managed; a win could lift Coventry to 11th and strengthen belief in their survival prospects.

The Sky Blues were beaten 10-0 on aggregate in their first four league games, but their approach has since become more pragmatic, including a tactical change that helped secure a 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest. In their 3-1 victory over Sunderland, possession fell from 68.5% in an earlier defeat by Hull to 42.6%, while forward passes and passes in the final third also dropped. Coventry have the league’s lowest expected goals figure, 8.34, and face a pivotal run of fixtures after Everton.
