Leeds Rhinos returned to the top of Super League on points difference after a commanding away victory over St Helens, their first at Saints since March 2023. The result sets up a League Leaders’ Shield decider against second-placed Wigan Warriors next Saturday, with Leeds able to win the trophy for the first time in 11 years by prevailing.

Leeds scored six tries, including an outstanding solo effort from Cameron Smith, and led by 18 points at half-time after tries from Chris Hankinson, Smith and Harry Newman. Ryan Hall, Ash Handley and Brodie Croft added further scores, while Jake Connor converted five tries; St Helens’ only response came through Jack Welsby. The defeat leaves Saints two points below sixth-placed Hull KR with two matches remaining, putting their play-off place at risk.
