Lego has launched its first officially licensed The X-Files set, aimed at adult collectors and fans of the long-running science-fiction drama. The model recreates Fox Mulder’s basement office and an alien encounter in nearby woods, reflecting renewed interest in the franchise as a Ryan Coogler reboot is being developed for Hulu.

The 1,478-piece Lego Ideas set costs $199.99 and is available from 1 August to free Lego Insiders members, before a wider release on 4 August. It includes eight minifigures, including Mulder, Dana Scully, Walter Skinner and a grey alien, plus details such as the “I Want to Believe” poster, case files and removable desk section; qualifying early purchases also receive a Scully’s Lab promotional mini-build while stocks last.
