Lemmo’s first cargo e-bike uses a compact semi-solid-state battery

The Verge ·

Lemmo has introduced the Lemmo 3, its first cargo bike, with a semi-solid state battery that the company says is safer, smaller and longer-lasting than a conventional lithium-ion pack. The battery technology is notable because it may reduce fire risk while providing more range in a compact package.

The 39kg step-through longtail has a 960Wh removable battery, with claimed range of up to 180km (110 miles). Lemmo says the battery is 20 per cent smaller and lighter and lasts 30 per cent longer; it can also power appliances up to 1,000W and USB-C devices up to 66W. The bike carries up to 200kg, uses a rear-hub motor rated at 750W in the US, 500W in Canada and 250W in Europe, and supports MIK HD accessories.
