Liam Gallagher rules Oasis out of Glastonbury 2027: “Not happening”

Far Out · 18 hours ago

Liam Gallagher has firmly denied that Oasis will headline Glastonbury 2027, despite the band being bookmakers' favourites at 4/1. Responding to a fan account on X, the singer used characteristically blunt language to dismiss the speculation, joking separately about a "nightmare" involving fans storming the stage. The denial follows organiser Emily Eavis also ruling out Madonna as a headliner, while confirming three headliners are already lined up for the festival's June 2027 return.

Despite the Glastonbury snub, Oasis appear to be eyeing a major show at Knebworth, after promoters SJM Concerts secured an indefinite licence in early August allowing events for up to 125,000 people with music until 3am. No tour has been confirmed, but the band has not denied reports of an imminent announcement, and Gallagher has hinted at further touring plans online. Elsewhere, Queen's Brian May also ruled out a Glastonbury slot, citing objections to the festival organisers' stance on badger culling, while other acts such as Harry Styles and Sam Fender are being tipped as potential first-time headliners.
