Light-fingered maid stole wealthy mistress’s Rolex watch and Cartier jewels… then took them to PAWN SHOP, prosecutors say
A Miami-area cleaner has been arrested after prosecutors alleged she stole and pawned luxury jewellery and watches belonging to a former employer over several years. The case matters because it alleges a long-running breach of trust involving an employee with access to the victim’s home, with police using pawn-shop records to trace the items.
Yuliedy Diaz, 48, is accused of taking about $36,500 worth of Cartier and Rolex watches, jewellery, necklaces, bracelets and earrings from a woman she reportedly cleaned for over 12 years. Police said pawn records linked Diaz to 32 of the victim’s items between 2018 and June 2026, while 73 items were pawned in total; she faces 12 felony charges and allegedly admitted the thefts after her arrest.
