Lil Durk, the Grammy-winning rapper born Durk Devontay Banks, was acquitted on 11 September of murder-for-hire and conspiracy charges linked to the 2022 fatal shooting of Saviay'a Robinson, cousin of rapper Quando Rondo, at a Los Angeles petrol station. The killing was believed to have been retaliation for the 2020 murder of Chicago rapper King Von, and Banks had faced a possible life sentence if convicted. The verdict follows a three-week trial and three days of jury deliberation.

Two co-defendants, Deandre "OTF Dede" Wilson and David "Browneyez" Lindsey, were also acquitted of murder-for-hire charges but convicted of stalking and conspiracy to commit stalking. The case relied heavily on three cooperating witnesses who testified under plea deals. Despite the acquittal, Banks remains in custody and faces a separate trial on 5 October on racketeering, murder and firearms charges; prosecutors said they were "disappointed" but would press ahead with that case, while Banks's father celebrated the verdict and offered condolences to Robinson's family.
