Lil Durk Murder-for-Hire Trial: Judge Rules ‘Pissed Me Off’ Video Can Be Used as Evidence

Rolling Stone · 4 hours ago

A federal judge has ruled that Lil Durk’s “Pissed Me Off” music video and lyrics may be shown to jurors in his forthcoming murder-for-hire trial in Los Angeles. Prosecutors say the song supports their claim that the rapper sought revenge for the killing of his friend King Von, while Durk denies involvement in the death at the centre of the case.

Prosecutors allege Durk, legally Durk Banks, arranged an attempted hit on rapper Quando Rondo in 2022, which instead killed bystander Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson. His defence argued that the 2021 song was primarily a tribute to several people he had lost, including his brother, and that its use could unfairly confuse jurors; the judge said the defence could challenge that interpretation and may seek a limiting instruction. Jury selection is due to begin on 20 August.

  • Judge allows Lil Durk’s video and lyrics as trial evidence.
  • Prosecutors say the song shows alleged revenge motive.
  • Durk denies involvement in Robinson’s death.
