LinkedIn introduces reporting option for suspected AI-generated spam
Developing story first seen 2 hours ago
LinkedIn is adding a “seems like AI slop” reporting button, allowing users to flag posts they believe are low-quality or inauthentically AI-generated. Reports will help improve LinkedIn’s detection systems and reduce such material in recommended posts from outside users’ networks, as the platform seeks to protect authentic professional discussion.
The company will also privately alert creators when others perceive their content as overly AI-driven, and is replacing its AI writing-enhancement tool with proofreading designed not to alter a user’s voice. LinkedIn says it blocks hundreds of thousands of automated comment attempts daily and millions of other automation attempts in recent months; the move follows similar anti-AI-content efforts elsewhere, while Cloudflare says bot traffic now exceeds human-generated web requests.
