Lionel Richie Hospitalized After St. Louis Concert

Rolling Stone · 4 hours ago

Lionel Richie was hospitalised in St Louis over the weekend, according to a source close to his tour, though he is reported to be fine. The 77-year-old singer performed at the Muny venue on 29 August and appeared in good form, though he asked for a stool to sit on during his set closer "All Night Long."

The hospitalisation follows an earlier health scare in May, when Richie cut short a concert in St Paul, Minnesota, after feeling dizzy and having to sit down mid-performance. He postponed two subsequent tour dates with Earth, Wind & Fire before returning to the stage on 30 June and completing the rest of that run. The St Louis show was his first since that tour ended; Richie is due to reunite with Earth, Wind & Fire in September and October for rescheduled dates in San Francisco, Chicago and Columbus, before starting a Las Vegas residency in October and November.
