Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino appeared at Disney’s D23 fan event to promote Romy and Michele 2, the forthcoming follow-up to the 1997 cult comedy Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion. In character and wearing matching white outfits, they said the duo still run a Beverly Hills boutique and will be seeking love, while joking that the new Disney connection makes them “officially Disney princesses”.

Robin Schiff, who wrote the original film, has also written the sequel, which reunites Janeane Garofalo, Alan Cumming, Camryn Manheim and Julia Campbell with Kudrow and Sorvino. New cast members include Keegan-Michael Key, Rob Huebel, Breckin Meyer, Patrick Warburton and Nathan Lee Graham; unlike the original’s cinema release, the sequel will stream exclusively on Hulu and Disney+.
