The global live music business remains strong during the summer season despite higher ticket prices, according to Luminate’s 2026 report. This matters because consumers still regard cost as the main obstacle to concert attendance, yet demand has not shown a significant overall decline, indicating that audiences are continuing to prioritise live events.

In Luminate’s US Music 360 survey, the share of respondents citing ticket prices as a deterrent fell from 59% in early 2024 to 53% two years later. However, demand is uneven: major stars such as Bad Bunny are thriving, while artists including Meghan Trainor and Zayn Malik have cancelled tour dates amid weaker sales. The pressure is greatest on mid-tier performers and independent venues, as fans with limited budgets choose a smaller number of high-profile shows.
