A young girl is fighting for her life in hospital after being found critically injured beside the body of a man at a house in Dungannon, County Tyrone, in an incident police are treating as murder. The Police Service of Northern Ireland has arrested a man on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, while a woman also found at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries has since been released from hospital. Officers have said they do not believe there is any wider risk to the public.

The man's body was discovered at a home on the Lisnahull Road at around 11am on Saturday, with the girl taken to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, where she remains critical. The cause of death has not been formally confirmed pending a post-mortem, and the arrested man remains in custody. A local Sinn Féin councillor described it as an apparent serious domestic incident involving a long-standing member of the community, reportedly a man originally from Guinea-Bissau who had lived in Northern Ireland for more than 20 years. Detectives have appealed for information, asking anyone with details to contact police on 101.
