Live Nation has settled a lawsuit brought by concertgoer Gary Stanhope, who alleged inadequate security contributed to an assault at a 2022 Luke Bryan concert in Hartford, Connecticut. The case had been moving towards trial after a judge found there were disputed questions over whether security arrangements were sufficient; the settlement avoids a trial, though its terms were not disclosed.

Stanhope said he was attacked after intervening to help a woman during a fight near the end of the concert, and that striking his head on the pavement left him with permanent brain injuries affecting his ability to work. Live Nation denied responsibility, saying it had employed more than 100 security guards, over a dozen police officers and attendee screening, and argued the injury resulted from others’ criminal conduct.
