Liverpool Football Club has issued more than 400 lifetime bans and 115 indefinite suspensions after working with Merseyside Police to seize over £1.2m in assets linked to organised ticket touting. The joint operation targeted the laundering of criminal proceeds from illicit ticket sales, reflecting the club's ongoing crackdown on touting both online and inside the stadium, with police stressing the need to protect genuine supporters from being exploited.

The seized assets have been split between Merseyside Police and the Home Office, and Liverpool have previously revealed shutting down 145,000 ticket accounts over two years. Last season alone the club analysed almost 700,000 ticket registrations, blocking or cancelling 67,663 suspected fake accounts, with a further 121,379 still under investigation, while 3,847 tickets were cancelled for suspicious activity and resold to genuine fans. The club also stepped up matchday checks, averaging 300 targeted stops per home game at Anfield as well as at away fixtures in the Premier League and Europe.
