## Key points

- Liverpool beat Palace 3-1 to end a two-game losing run.
- Palace’s fourth straight league defeat left them bottom.
- A disputed late penalty denied Liverpool a clean sheet.

## Summary

Liverpool ended a two-match losing run by beating Crystal Palace 3-1, moving up to fourth in the Premier League. Palace’s fourth consecutive league defeat sent them to the bottom of the table and increased pressure on manager Pierre Sage.

Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring in the 40th minute, Florian Wirtz added a second after half-time and Alexander Isak scored in the 89th. Eddie Nketiah converted a stoppage-time penalty for Palace after a disputed decision, which Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola criticised. Liverpool have 18 points from 10 matches, while Palace have seven; Sage said his team must defend and attack more effectively.
