Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has said winger Yankuba Minteh could still achieve a big move in a future transfer window, after the club turned down bids from Liverpool during the summer window. The rejection matters because it signals Brighton's determination to hold onto key assets despite significant interest, while suggesting the door remains open for a departure if Minteh continues to perform well for the Seagulls.

Liverpool had £50m and £60m bids rejected for the 22-year-old Gambia international, with Brighton reportedly holding out for closer to £70m. Minteh, who joined from Newcastle for £30m in 2024, has scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 73 appearances for the club. Despite missing out on the move, Brighton generated substantial transfer income elsewhere, including Carlos Baleba's £70m switch to Manchester United, and used the funds to sign Spanish midfielder Chema Andres from Stuttgart for £15.5m on deadline day.
